Spain's entry in the Oscars' Foreign-Language Film category is a re-imagined version of the Snow White fairy tale. Described as a homage to the black-and-white Golden Age of Europe's silent cinema, Blancanieves stars Macarena García as Carmen and Maribdel Verdú as her stepmother Encarna. The movie directed by Pablo Berger opens January 18th via Cohen Media Group:
