Cross Creek Pictures Hires John Hilary Shepherd, Promotes John Doherty

Mike Fleming

Cross Creek Pictures has hired John Hilary Shepherd as director of development. This is the same guy who is adapting Boneshaker for Cross Creek and Hammer Films, and who got a WGA nomination for his work on the first season of Showtime's Nurse Jackie. Shepherd gets going with the development of the sequel The Woman In Black: Angels Of Death, after the first pic grossed $130 million worldwide. Shepherd has been a development executive and story analyst for Spelling Films, Polygram, and WMA.

Cross Creek also promoted John Doherty to creative exec after he served under president Brian Oliver on the films The Ides Of March; The Woman In Black; and the upcoming Ron Howard-directed Rush, which Universal releases September 20. Doherty started at WME and moved to Happy Madison before landing at Cross Creek.
