'I usually don't email you ' but I have an amazing invitation I have to share. Jay and I will be meeting up with President Obama for an evening in NYC sometime soon. And we want you to be there,' said the Dreamgirls actress in an email sent out by the Obama campaign today. 'Don't worry about the airfare and hotel, it's taken care of. And you can bring a guest,' the email added. A similar donor appeal for the dinner with Beyoncé, Jay-Z and the President also appeared on the Obama campaign website today. While the appeal gives no date or NYC location, the New York Post reports that the event is scheduled for September 18 at Jay-Z's 40/40 club. Obama's GOP rival for the White House will 
be in NYC that day too, having his own celebrity encounter. Mitt Romney and wife Ann are scheduled to appear on LIVE! with Kelly and Michael on September 18. Like past celebrity contests the Obama campaign did with George Clooney on May 10 and Sarah Jessica Parker on June 14, donors can give as little as $3 to the Beyoncé dinner to win a chance to meet the President and his Hollywood pals. Otherwise, tickets for past such events have gone for around $40,000 each. Unlike past dinner with Obama contests, the timeline for this one is very short, ending at midnight tonight.
Beyoncé and her hip-hop superstar spouse have been long time supporters of Obama. She performed a cover of Etta James' 'At Last' for the Obama's first dance as First Couple at the 2009 Inauguration. Beyoncé portrayed James in the 2009 film Cadillac Records. Besides Beyoncé has appeared in several films including the 2006 adaptation of Dreamgirls, for which she was nominated for Golden Globes for Best Actress and Best Original Song. Besides lending her voice to the upcoming animated adventure Epic from 20th Century Fox, Beyoncé is set next to star in the remake of A Star Is Born. A film that ironically is being directed by Clint Eastwood, the not-so-successful surprise speaker at the Republican Convention two weeks ago in Tampa, Florida.
